We have another basketball player in our house! Leah decided that she wanted to play for the first time this year, and Mark is her coach. Her team named themselves the "Quickshadows" and it's the first season for many of the players (who are just entering the Age 5/6 division). There is lots of emphasis on having fun and learning fundamentals, and Coach Mark is very patient and wonderful with these kiddos:
Leah is the only girl on her co-ed team, and once again, is unfazed by this. She's aggressive and quick, and I'm amazed at her knowledge of the game:

The uniform gods were in our favor again, as Leah loves the color blue. Our seven year-old is #7, and Luke is also #7 for his team. I get such a kick out of these coincidences!
Luke and Leah have games every Saturday, and it's our family's weekend entertainment to watch our two basketball stars. Mark is also the Assistant Coach for Luke's team, and so our family is immersed in all-things basketball from November-March. Luke moved up a division this year, and his games are much more competitive and intense. They are now playing with 10-foot baskets, and the kids seem so small in comparison!

It's lots of fun to watch our basketball players grow and learn each year. We wish them both great seasons and a continued love of this game!
