Hakuna Matata!

Happy Halloween from our Lion Pride!

When you have a puppy that looks just like a lion cub...

... you dress her up like Baby Simba and coordinate your Halloween theme around her!

My talented friend made us coordinating shirts.  Here are the Brother and Sister of the Pride with their dear cub:

Little did Millie know what Pumba and Timone had in store for her:

Transformed into Baby Simba!

Here it is.  Her big moment:
🎵It's the Circle of Life...and it moves us all.  Through despair and hope, through faith and love.
Til we find our place... on the path unwinding.  It's the circle.  The Circle of Life. 🎵
It would be kind of poetic if it weren't so funny.  That poor dog.  Little does she know that dog costumes are a part every Halloween at our house.  Winnie tolerated them for 13 years, and we have big plans for Miss Millie, too.

Just for grins, here are some of my favorite outtakes from our Lion King photo shoot:

How many parents does it take to put a costume on a puppy?  Leah snapped this picture as Mark and I tried to wrangle our squirmy lion cub:
The struggle is real!

I wish we had audio for this next picture.  I am trying to hold up Millie/Baby Simba for her big Circle of Life moment, and Mark is saying, "Carrie, you do not have to smile.  There is a mask covering your face...":
Daddy looks so thrilled to be participating in this family activity, doesn't he?!

Pumba and Timone haven't realized here that Simba has escaped and is now chewing a pumpkin stem:

Then there's this one, where we are ready to go with our masks/costumes, and somehow we neglected to put Millie in hers.  I'm sure she's thinking, "What strange humans I have in my family!"
