It rained A LOT here this summer. Thankfully, we were traveling so much that we were able to enjoy sunny summer weather on many of our trips. But everything was soggy and damp in SC for weeks, and many of our outdoor activities and pool time had to be cut short or rescheduled due to daily rain showers. One morning, we decided to construct our own indoor fun, and built a fort under our dining room table. This turned out to be a great idea, as the fort occupied everyone for hours. Even Winnie joined in on the fun, and nudged her way into the fort to be with her brother and sister:
The kids brought many of their stuffed animals into the fort, which served as the native wildlife. Luke even made sure to have fresh catch for Winnie's "dinner" in make-shift dog bowls:
With the addition of miners' hats and flashlights, L&L pretended that they were in a deep, dark cave, and performed shadow puppet shows for Mommy, who served as quite an enthusiastic audience:
One of the most exciting parts of the day was eating a picnic in the fort. As you can see, there were several attempts at trading lunches:
All three of our kids loved their adventure in the fort, and it was a great way to spend a rainy summer day!
