Luke turned 12 on Monday, and we were so happy to celebrate with our favorite tween on his special day! We decorated the house and set out presents the night before Luke's birthday, and successfully pulled off our big surprise of covering the floor of his room with dozens of balloons while he slept:
One of the perks of a quarantine birthday means no school or alarm clock, and this kiddo slept in and opened presents when he woke up in the morning:
There were even "little sister" presents for Leah, because grandparents somehow just know how to make everyone feel special:
Luke requested pizza for lunch and spent the afternoon playing games on the Ipad and Wii with Leah, talking to family on the phone, and doing a Facetime video call with his best friend:
Daddy got a new grill as his early Father's Day present, and Leah helped him cook filet mignon for Luke's birthday dinner:
Luke's dessert request was an ice cream cake (because when you're an adolescent boy, it really is all about the food!), and this was the perfect birthday treat!
Happy 12th birthday, Luke! We love you so much!
