The Sweetest Place on Earth!

Each time we visit Mimi & Grandpa, we take the opportunity to visit Chocolate World in nearby Hershey, PA.  Hershey boasts that it is "the sweetest place on Earth" and after checking out all of the treats at Chocolate World, we unanimously agree:

This year, Luke amused us by reciting many of the facts from the educational tour ride that teaches visitors how chocolate is made. From the cocoa beans growing in the jungle to the final wrapped chocolate bar on the shelf, Luke can tell you about each part of the chocolate-making process (i.e. "Mommy, the roaster is where they cook the beans to prepare them for churning and grinding"). We may have a future Milton Hershey on our hands, and Luke is already posing for publicity photos with many of the Hershey characters:

Meanwhile, our little choco-holic Leah made sure that she sampled several Hershey products from Chocolate World...

...especially her fresh milkshake.  Yummy!

The children also enjoyed the festive holiday decorations, including this Chocolate House, adorned with thousands of Hershey kisses and Reese's peanut butter cups:

We've visited Chocolate World many times in the past few years, and our children enjoy it at every age.  Here are 2 pictures of Luke running down the ramp at the end of the tour ride, in December 2009 and on our most recent trip last month. He's certainly growing up, but still has the same contagious smile:

What a fun morning we spent at the Sweetest Place on Earth!
