June = the kick off to summertime!  Our friends gave us tickets to a Winston-Salem Dash game earlier this month, and we had a blast in the club seating area.  It was a gorgeous night for a ball game (and also Jimmy Buffet night, hence the leis), and we enjoyed the buffet and our own table right behind home plate:

Luke had the opportunity to play with the NWHS Pep Band at several local elementary schools to celebrate the last week of school.  Mark and I went to watch when the band visited Oak Ridge Elementary, and several of Luke's former teachers were in attendance.  How we love this sweet school where we have so many special memories of our kiddos!

The kids had completely different schedules leading up to the final days of school, so I forgot to get a photo of Luke.  However, I remembered to snap a picture of Leah's last day of 7th grade: 

Our town has summer movies in the park, and Leah went with one of her friends this month.  It's a new season of parenting, where we can drop off kids and pick them up later, and she is loving her new independence.  She's been playing in the neighborhood a lot, biking to the pool and to our town commons, and sleeping in:

    

We also did our second Dogs Day Out with a dog from the Guilford County Animal Shelter a few weeks ago.  Rocky is an adorable, goofy guy, and we spent the day with him at the park, a private dog park, and out in the community.  We took lots of pictures and posted a description of Rocky on social media, and the increased exposure resulted in him being adopted and finding his fur-ever home the following week.  We love this program and the positive outcomes for so many of the shelter dogs!

We hope Rocky and his new family are so happy together!

We did a family day at Dave & Buster's to celebrate the end of the school year.  The kids had gift cards to use, and we took advantage of half price Wednesday to play twice as many games:

Leah also tried out one of the summer rowing sessions at NCRC and I loved seeing my girl on the water this month:

Speaking of water, we had the best day at Belews Lake with our neighbors.  I feel like I had a very similar post last summer, but I just can't get enough of these doggies in life jackets:

After a fun-filled day at the lake, it was hard for everyone to keep their eyes open:

Meanwhile, Luke is in his lifeguard era and is working almost every day/night that we are in town this summer.  He is enjoying making $ and socializing at the pool with friends:

Luke also got his first car recently, and is excited about his new set of wheels!

June also included back to back beach weeks with family.  This year, we went straight from Rehoboth (separate blog post) to Topsail, with an overnight stop in between to pick up Millie.  Here are a few pics of our week at Topsail.  There were consistent themes in our beach trips this year:  spikeball, pickleball, and family games!

June seemed to fly by with our vacations and was a great month!
