Winterhoff Beach Week 2024

In June, we traveled to Rehoboth Beach, DE, for Winterhoff Beach Week.  This year, we were fortunate to have all 6 Winterhoff cousins together again, and this annual vacation is a highlight of our summer.

All of these kids have been coming to the beach since they were babies, and now most of them are teenagers.  We have quite a set-up on the sand, with families from 3 different beach houses meeting each morning to hang out together:

This beach week will be noted as the one where Luke fell asleep anytime, anywhere.  Teenaged boys have a special gift, and I believe there are some pictures of his Daddy (circa mid 1990s) asleep on the beach as well:

This was also the summer of spike ball.  The cousins LOVED this game, and there was always a crew on the beach playing.  One of the best things was watching them switch up their partners and have all different combinations of teams throughout the week:

Pickleball was a new addition for us this year at Rehoboth, and we had fun playing at the neighborhood courts:

Donut Days with Poppy continue to be a beloved tradition, and these are some of my favorite Rehoboth pictures each year:

Crab Night is one of our most anticipated evenings, and all 6 Winterhoff cousins ate crabs this summer!  This is such a delicious feast for all of us:

Treats on the boardwalk and Fun Land are timeless Rehoboth favorites, too:

As the week went on, the Horse Racing prizes seemed to be getting larger:

Thanks to upgrades (insert sarcasm here), we came home with a jumbo sized horse and enormous koala bear.  I mean, these stuffed animals are almost as big as the kids:

Back at the beach house, Bean kept the cousins entertained with Bingo & Red Solo Cup games, and the kids reminisced while looking at photos with Poppy.  They ate on the patio for dinner each night, and they enjoyed this autonomy and time together:

We had great weather this year and loved making special memories at Rehoboth again this summer. Thank you, Bean and Poppy, for this priceless gift!
