Mimi's Visit

Mimi came to visit us over Spring Break and we enjoyed having her celebrate Easter with our family.  We also had lots of fun at home, and the kids absolutely adored having their grandmother's undivided attention to play and read books:

Leah, Mimi, and I went out to a Ladies' Lunch downtown while the boys were at tee ball practice:

We also had a fun outing at Chuck E. Cheese's while Mimi was here.  Leah is old enough to enjoy some of the games now, and we loved her enthusiasm as she ran around, placing her game tokens in any coin slot she could find:

The real live Chuck E. Cheese made an appearance while we were there, and our once mascot-shy Leah ran right up to him, chasing him around the arcade.  A giant flash mob of kids followed Chuck E. Cheese and started imitating his dance moves, shouting and jumping along with the music.  I thought Leah would be terrified and run away screaming, but she remained front and center in the middle of the crowd for the entire time... the tiniest fan, and one of the cutest (in my completely unbiased opinion!):

We also began Luke's birthday festivities while Mimi was here.  It was the first of several parties for our almost 5-year old, and who can resist an excuse to celebrate with grandparents while they are in town?  So the month of celebrating our Super Hero commenced:

There were themed-presents,

 smiles from the birthday boy,

coordinating balloons and cards,

and even Batman himself stopped by to say "Hi!":

The first of Luke's birthday desserts was a Super Hero cookie cake...

...which was a big hit with Super Luke:

We hope all your birthday wishes come true, my beautiful big boy, and thank you to Mimi for a wonderful visit and a great kick-off to the Month of Luke!
